Strawbarb
Strawbarb
Strawbarb is a boxy pullover with a cute lace panel in top center of the front. The pullover is worked top down. You first work the back from the shoulders to the underarm, then pick up stitches for the front. Strawbarb has a high rounded neckline that gives way to a cute lace pattern that is reminiscent of a strawberry. The sweater is oversized, but the sleeves are fitted, and they begin just above the elbow. All of the edges are trimmed with I-cord, and the hemline is split. Like many of the boxy style sweaters, Strawbarb looks great on a variety of body shapes and sizes. It is comfy and casual, while still being suitable for work.
The Strawbarb is inspired by fruity craft beers, like Strawberry Rhubarb by New Glarus Brewing in Wisconsin. The brewer uses juicy sweet strawberries to tame the barbaric wild tart fermentation of rhubarb. The beer is sour and effervescent. Very tasty on a late summer or early fall day!
