The Libby Shawl is a crescent shaped shawl that begins with a stockinette stitch tab. Stitches are picked up around the tab and those stitches establish the 3-stitch stockinette stitch border on each side and begins the first textured section.
Double increases are worked adjacent to each border on every right side row and those increases creates the crescent shape. The body of the shawl has alternating sections of the textured stitch and an eyelet stitch. The alternating sections naturally swirl to the right because of the placement of each new section at the end of the right side rows. Once all 10 sections are complete, a wavy border is added to the shawl to create a very pretty finish.
Whether you make this as a gift for a friend, or for yourself to wear to a wedding or a dressy event, the Libby Shawl is a lovely addition to any wardrobe.
The fabric is interesting, but not difficult, to knit, though counting is required!
