Fibercast #8

Fibercast #8

Thank you so much for watching the Wise Owl Knits Fibercast! I am having so much fun, and am (kind of) beginning to feel comfortable recording the video. This episode was published on June 7, 2023.

Fibercast #8, What I am wearing

The Shamrock Cardigan is always one of my "go to" wardrobe pieces. This short sleeve sweater is knit in DK and features an easy lace pattern on each side of the center front, and on each sleeve. There is a one button closure at the top front.

Making

I am making the Swerve Quilt by Kristin Gassaway of Thrilled to Pieces. So far, I have the pattern and the pattern. But, I plan to get started cutting this week.

Designing

I am working on this fingering weight colorwork sweater using Knitting McPurly Frankfurt Fingering Minis and a full skein of Fort Lauderdale Fingering for the main color. Meadow (green) is the main color.

I am also working on Sharkey for Shark Week and the Shark Week Challenge from Politically Incorrect Knitters. the Sharkey Pattern will be released on June 11, 2023

More Designs

I am in the testing phase of the Trinitrio sweater. This pattern will be released on June 15, but you can preorder the pattern now for a 15% discound. So exciting!!

The Solomon Poncho pattern is still being written. this pattern will be lengthy, I have finished writing out the 24 row cable pattern for the front and back, and am currently working on the written neckline instructions for the 3 sizes, S/M, L/XL, and 2XL/3XL.

Finished

I used raw edge applique to put this owl on a t-shirt. I plan to put this same motif on some project bags that will be available on my website. Don't look too close, it is better at a distance!

Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival

The bag is from Prairie Bag Works, and the notecards are by Emma Ball

The Lagare 27 circular sock machine was my major and unexpected purchase. Hopefully I can show you some socks from the machine in the not too distant future!
