Fibercast #7

Fibercast #7

Thank you so much for watching the Wise Owl Knits Fibercast! I am having so much fun, and am (kind of) beginning to feel comfortable recording the video. This episode was published on May 31, 2023.

Fibercast #7, What I am wearing

The Wispy Willow Cardigan is a great sweater for the spring and summer. It is knit in fingering weight yarn and features lace panels on the right and left front adjacent to the ribbing at the center front. The same lace panels are on each sleeve. Optionally, you can put an off center lace panel on the cardigan back.

You can add a button and buttonhole at the top center for a one button closure, but I am using a shawl pin rather than a button.

I think that I forgot to mention the Stars and Stripes Shawl that was a part of the background today. This same shawl was also featured on the latest Murder Knits Podcast, in green, brown, and cream.

Making/Designing

I am working on this fingering weight colorwork sweater using Knitting McPurly Frankfurt Fingering Minis and a full skein of Fort Lauderdale Fingering for the main color. Meadow (green) is the main color.

I am also working on a Shark Pattern for Shark Week and the Shark Week Challenge from Politically Incorrect Knitters.

Finished

I finished this blanket on the knitting machine, with a crochet border. This blanket will go to Birthline in Indianapolis, to help mothers in need.

I have made several blankets on the knitting machine. When I was given the machine, I was determined to learn how to use it. I did learn the basics, but I just did not enjoy using it as much as I enjoy hand knitting. The machine is now going to a new home, to my future daughter in law, Alli.

Alli has designed custom knit sweaters in the past, She is also an awesome clothing designer. You can see her on Instagram Alli Beck Designs

More Designs

I am in the testing phase of the Trinitrio sweater. This pattern will be released mid June. So exciting!!

The Solomon Poncho pattern is still being written. this pattern will be lengthy, I have finished writing out the 24 row cable pattern for the front and back, and am currently working on the written neckline instructions for the 3 sizes, S/M, L/XL, and 2XL/3XL.
