Cheryl Beckerich Knits is now Wise Owl Knits! I will still have the same products and quality patterns, but they will now be offered under the Wise Owl Knits brand. Things will basically look the same, only the name is different.
The Owl is the same as before, and we all know that owls are wise. Wise is also my Mom's maiden name, and the new name is a nod to her. After all, she did teach me to knit! She taught me lots of other things too, and I was lucky to have her as my mom and my inspiration.
New Pattern
The first pattern under the Wise Owl Knits name is the Plaid & Polka Dots Cowl.
The cowl is worked in the round, beginning with a provisional cast on. Half of the cowl is worked in the plaid motif, then half is worked in the polka dot motif. Once both halves are
worked, the provisional cast on is removed, and the live stitches are transferred to the second circular needle. These stitches are grafted to the live stitches on the working needle using the Kitchener Stitch.
Do you have some beautiful hand-dyed yarns that you are yearning to use? The Plaid & Polka Dots Cowl uses 4 colors. The main color will serve as the background to show off the 3 contrasting colors. The Plaid & Polka Dot Cowl is the perfect pattern for your treasured hand- dyed yarns!
I had 3 colors of DK weight yarn from Ewe and Dye Yarns, which I used for the plaid and polka dots, and the background is Knit Picks Swish DK. Ewe and Dye has some amazing yarns, so go and check them out. I am sure you will be a fan of these beautiful hand-dyed yarns. I know that you are already familiar with Knit Picks. You know they offer quality yarn at very reasonable prices.
